Diane Zsepeczky
Diane comes to Samagra with an extensive background in teaching and counseling. It was her enduring life passion to never stop growing and to facilitate growth for others that originally brought her to what is now a twelve year affiliation with Samagra. To her great joy, and over this time, the experience of a personal practice of meditation has served to further enliven this passion. It now finds particular expression as she brings her work with meditation, ego, soul and shadow to stand-alone workshops and classes for an eclectic group of meditators, from those just starting out to those who are training to facilitate meditation for others.
"Teaching teachers" has long been one of Diane’s favourite endeavours and facilitating with Samagra’s Meditation Teacher Training Program continues to bring unique rewards. Integrating the experience of meditation with the challenge of self-knowing is Diane’s contribution to the MTTP accreditation. Watching diverse groups of participants grow to become confident and knowledgeable facilitators of meditation for others never fails to bring enormous satisfaction to this seasoned educator as she increasingly recognizes that "we are all teachers to one another".
Another equally rewarding endeavour is Samagra’s Eight- Session Introductory Meditation Program, offered three times annually, which she co-facilitates with David Wilson, another member of the Samagra faculty. Together they invite participants to create a practice grounded in a variety of meditation /breath techniques as well as watchful self-knowing. Working with beginners in this way is a refreshing ongoing reminder of the possibilities and choices that are there for those who open themselves to the meditative path.
On a personal level, Diane is married to Bill, an avid cyclist, and her most encouraging and patient supporter. They have long shared their home with three formerly stray cats, Maggie, Suzie and Banjo, each of whom simply arrived and decided to stay. Although she finds great joy in connecting with others through her work, Diane relishes spending time with family and close friends, getting lost in a good book, walking regularly in nature and spontaneously enjoying all that is waiting- even in the most ordinary of days.
Diane is a qualified administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and has been certified to work with archetypes by Carol Pearson, author of Awakening the Heroes Within.
