Meditation Teacher Training Program
The Meditation Teacher Training Program is a comprehensive 200-hour certificate program that offers you the opportunity to expand your knowledge of meditation, deepen your meditative experience and learn the skills required to design and facilitate meditation sessions for groups and individuals. This program is certified by the Canadian Yoga Alliance (CYA-RYS200).
All Samagra programs are based on the principles of Naturality, an integrative approach to life that is grounded in science, education, well-being and the rights of the individual.
Duration: This 200-hour program is held on 15 alternate Sundays and a 4-day retreat in July. In Hamilton the program runs from Sunday, January 22, 2012 to September 23. In Toronto the program runs from Sunday, January 29, 2012 to October 14.

Curriculum
This comprehensive certificate program offers training and experience in:
Meditation Techniques and Traditions: Learn about and experience 11 unique meditation techniques. Study with universally acknowledged teachers experienced in a diverse range of traditions and backgrounds. Discover what meditation is and is not.
Teaching Methodology and Facilitation Skills: Learn about and Experience:
- the steps of instructional design
- principles of adult education
- interpersonal communication factors
- common methods of delivery
- integration of multi-media
- discover your strengths as a facilitator
Last Four Limbs of Patanjali's Eight Limbs of Yoga: Study and develop:
- your relationship to Pratyahara, sensory transcendence
- Dharana, concentration
- Dhyana, total awareness without conscious focus
- Samadhi, the state of Wellness, Authenticity and Freedom
Anatomy and Psychology of Meditation: Learn about current research in neuroplasticity and brain science. Explore mind-body connections and mind-body medicine.
Lifestyle and Ethics: Understand the life-altering potential of the meditative experience: body type, personality, constitution and self-knowing. Learn about body types and temperament using eastern and western terms of reference. Understand your unique nature. Discover movement, diet and activities that work best for you.
Archetypal Energy: Learn about the energy of ego, soul and shadow. Understand the power of integrating knowledge of ego, shadow and soul into your life journey. Experience the inclusive nature of Naturality’s wholeness.
Chakras: Learn about the traditional experience of the chakras or energy centres. Understand the evolutionary path of humans, socially, spiritually and physically, as demonstrated by movement through the chakras. Learn about the path of involution through the chakras.
Movement and Breath-work: Learn about and experience gentle movements and breath-work that relate to the chakras, prakirti, and ego, soul and shadow energies
Prerequisites:
- A personal interview with one of the instructors and/or written submission outlining your reasons for taking the program.
- An established meditation practice. *Those without an established practice will be required, upon registration, to begin a meditation practice with the support of the teaching staff in preparation for the program.
Note: This program is for those who want to:
- engage in and explore the experience of self-knowing;
- incorporate the experiences of meditation into a current teaching or healing practice;
- design and facilitate sessions integrating meditation principles and techniques for groups or individuals
- and/or help others to discover physical and mental well-being, explore their full capacity, find their true nature and bring clarity to their daily lives.
Resources and Text: Students will be required to purchase a copy of Meditation: The First and Last Freedom by Osho (available at Chapters). Books by Jivasu will be provided as resource material and a recommended reading list will be provided.
Certification Requirements: Participants will be required to:
- attend 90% of the classes (in Toronto and/or Hamilton)
- have a personal meditation practice
- submit written assignments
- submit précises and questions from readings based on the recommended reading list or other approved books
- plan four meditation sessions (theme-based)
- facilitate a meditation session demonstrating facilitation skills and knowledge of the theme/topic
- facilitate a meditation session outside of class and submit a feedback sheet from participants
- pass a written test
Cost:
- $3,000 including HST for registration before Dec. 31, 2011
- $3,600 including HST for registration after Dec. 31, 2011
