Meditation for Wellness, Peace and Insight

Many who attend Samagra’s eight session Introductory Meditation Program are drawn to meditation by the growing evidence of its positive impact on the body (incl. the brain), mind, and spirit. Offered three times annually in the fall, winter and spring, this program includes the knowledge and experience of four meditation techniques, breath-work, gentle movement for relaxation and preparing the body for meditation, and dialogue topics that are relevant to wellness, peace and insight. Although this program has been planned for those who are new to meditation, a number of participants have found it to be of benefit in renewing and strengthening their practice.

Meditation Teacher Training Program

Humans are capable of evolving consciously which can bring them a sense of wholeness, well-being and expansion of awareness.  Meditation is a tool of conscious evolution through which they not only discover their own unique nature, but also experience the universal consciousness which frees them from fear and suffering.

This Meditation Teacher Training Program, a unique synthesis of heart and mind, feelings and thought, soul and structure, is a comprehensive 200-hour certificate program certified by the Canadian Yoga Alliance (CYA-RYS200).  This program offers you the opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience of meditation, deepen your meditative practice, learn the skills required to design and facilitate meditation sessions for groups and individuals and to experience meditation practices that are contemporary and accessible to both traditionally oriented seekers and to those who are steeped in the ways of science.

All Samagra programs are based on the principles of ‘naturality, an integrative approach to life that is grounded in science, education, well-being and the rights of the individual.

This program is offered in modular format.  While the sessions are designed specifically for the Meditation Teacher Training Program, registration is open to all who are interested in the topic of a particular module, with the exception of Module V: Teaching Methodology and Facilitation Skills.

Pilgrimage to India

Uttarakhand has been a place of pilgrimage for thousands of years, a sacred site where seekers travel in search of a deeper understanding of themselves and the world. For the past two years, Jivasu has been leading small groups of pilgrims from Canada to this special place. The pilgrims have a rich experience in India – they visit sacred sites, explore the magnificent Himalayan environment, and study the work of local NGOs involved with education. They participate in two meditation retreats, one in the mountains and another in the sacred town of Rishikesh.
